I've taken the time to scope out the competition. After viewing two pages worth of profiles, I'm pooped. It's like internet dating for travelers. (Being single is a bit less exhausting...)
But I've gotten to meet some cool people!
I've gotten to check out some cool videos and blogposts.
I've gotten introductions to some cool destinations!
As of the entries uploaded today (26 days left to enter / vote for me), I studied the entries of 20 different people from all over the globe. Some video entries kept me interested for a full 3+ minutes, but disappointed me with bad grammar blogposts or lackluster photos. I found myself continually re-considering what parts of my entry could use attention-grabbing and attention-retaining improvement. I took notes on what qualities and styles made for an interesting video and I paid attention to the number of votes each entrant had thusfar accrued. For this small sample of entrants, I think the highest numbers I saw were in the low 400s.
Sample of how my brain judged & later recalled those judgments:
Here were some of my favorites, in categories that I decided before embarking on my study:

Will be checking back in on my fellow contestants soon...
until then, time to sleep! This picking a winner is tiring business. Perhaps next time I'll employ a numerical ranking scale. Yes, yes I like that idea. Stay tuned!
PS. If you find yourself wandering around on the contest site, please help me check out the competition and comment back here with links to profiles that you think I should pay attention to. I had a family member send a link to me of a video that "made her cry". It's an incredible opportunity to learn from my peers, so please don't be shy. Thanks in advance!
